Neyland Stadium and Sports Center Renovations

Project Location

Knoxville, Tennessee

Phase Two of the Neyland Thompson Sports Renovations (McKenzie Sports Center) encompasses a new University of Tennessee Football Exhibit space, approximately 34,000 square feet of office space and an expanded indoor practice field. The construction was completed in March of 2005. The seventy-yard indoor practice field was increased to one-hundred-twenty yards, and a new lobby and facility entry was created. The challenge of this design was maintaining the current office space used by the Athletic Department and current indoor practice field without interrupting the use of these spaces. A thirty-yard drill field was included during this phase as well. Phase Three expands the facility with a new Coaches’ locker room and Players’ locker and lounge.
