Shannondale Retirement Center
Project Location
Maryville, Tennessee
Shannondale of Maryville Retirement Community offers residents who value the sense of a close-knit senior community several options for independent and assisted-care living. Self-sufficient residents may opt to reside in a villa-like atmosphere or in stand-alone homes tailored to each individual family’s personal requirements. Design options of unlimited means are within the homeowners reach. Seniors are able to custom-fit their homes with an array of kitchen, dining, sleeping and entertaining options. All homes and villas are outfitted with emergency detection and medical alert systems. Residences are designed to meet or exceed ADA guidelines, enforcing a fully accessible living space without obstacles and circulation hazards.
For those residents requiring greater attention, the Skilled Care facility, including the assisted living component, occupies 96,000 square feet of the forty-six acre Shannondale Retirement Community at a cost of $10.8 million dollars of the total $35 million dollar development. The Skilled Care facility contains thirty acute-care inpatient rooms with a centralized nursing station and medical preparation area for each fifteen-bed floor. Housed within a wing of the Skilled Care facility is a sixteen-bed Alzheimer’s care unit. The unit has its own dining area, centralized nurses station and intimately designed spaces to mimic the look and feel of sitting on one’s front porch. Support services for each facility include a patient and family day room, laundry and central supply areas, as well as physician exam rooms, which include dental care. An activity room is available for both the skilled-care areas as well as the assisted-living components. Shannondale also incorporates a large community center into the complex, accessible to all residents and suited for various social gatherings.
